Jeffrey M. Lastiwka, MBA, CMA – President & CEO / JayCap Loan Evaluation Committee
Jeff leads the strategic vision of the firm, along with corporate development, operational excellence, and risk management at JayCap. With more than 15 years experience in the finance industry, and 10 years of direct experience in the management of private mortgage banking and investment firms, Jeff has served to underwrite and review more than $400M in commercial interim mortgage loans. A respected leader within the mortgage banking industry, Jeff serves to enhance the strategic growth plan and vision for JayCap, having built a thriving company committed to the creation of wealth and prosperity for shareholders and investors. Jeff holds a Certified Management Accounting designation and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.

Ron Fredrickson - Director, Business Development
With over 25 years experience in commercial banking and lending, Ron brings a wealth of experience to JayCap Financial Ltd. and is a key player in the expert delivery of loan origination, underwriting, and risk management. He has a strong management and executive leadership track record, holding key commercial underwriting appointments with major chartered financial institutions including the Royal Bank of Canada and Toronto Dominion, in addition to leading a regional branch office on behalf of Alberta Opportunity Company. Ron has developed specific expertise in the structuring of mortgages, having participated in the origination and funding of more than $500M in commercial loans. With formal training in business administration and accounting combined, Ron is a graduate of the Banff Centre for Management.

Graeme T. G. Young – Director, JayFund Inc. / JayCap Loan Evaluation Committee
A highly regarded professional within the commercial and industrial real estate industry across Canada, Graeme Young is a valued member of the JayCap team, having a key role in both JayFund Inc. and JayCap’s Credit Committee review process. As former National Chairman of Avison Young Commercial Real Estate, and with more than 35 years of extensive experience in all aspects of the real estate industry, Graeme has led many of Alberta’s largest commercial real estate transactions. Prior to merging with Avison Young, Graeme was President / General Manager of Graeme Young & Associates (1979 to 1996). Graeme Young holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management from the Faculty of Economics, University of London, England; a degree specifically for those pursuing a professional career in real estate.

Tod Hughes – Loan Evaluation Committee
Tod Hughes brings more than 30 years of commercial real estate leasing, sales, management, finance and development experience to the JayCap team. He is Past Managing Partner and President and CEO of Avison Young Commercial Real Estate (Alberta) and currently serves on the national board and executive committee of the newly merged, and rapidly expanding Avison Young Canada. In addition, Tod is an active board member with NewWest Property Management and proudly represents the Canadian Board of Governors for Opportunity International.

Andrew Melton – Loan Evaluation Committee
Andrew is a key player in the commercial real estate industry, commencing his career nearly 3 decades ago, and is Executive Vice Chairman, Melcor Developments Ltd. Andrew was a partner in Avison Young Commercial Real Estate (Alberta), Calgary office; previously served as the President of Melton Real Estate Incorporated from 1988-1995; and was the Branch Manager of Graeme Young and Associates, the predecessor firm to Avison Young Commercial Real Estate (Alberta). His experience in the industry has shown Andrew to be the team leader in over $500M in investment grade real estate sales, the sale and acquisition of over 6,000 acres of future development land, and the implementation and management of marketing programs for major commercial areas such as Crowfoot Towne Centre and Stoney Industrial. Andrew has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.

John Huckell – Director, JayFund Inc.
John Huckell, B.Sc., LL.B, and MBA brings 27 years experience as a practicing solicitor specializing in corporate/securities and commercial law to our group. At present, he is the Vice President and CFO of an Alberta-based oil and gas service firm, where he has served for more than 4 years in this role, concurrently. John is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Law Society of the Province of Alberta, and the Edmonton Bar Association. A Registered Trade Mark Agent, he has also served as Vice Chairman, of the Technology and Intellectual Property Subsection, Northern Alberta District—Canadian Bar Association and Chairman of the Native Law Sub-Section, Canadian Bar Association—Northern Alberta.
